Long weekend

      
          People like to pass fun as well as get together with the family on the long weekend. This last week, here in Canada, some people had a long weekend, but it was not the same for me.

          This long weekended started on Friday in which I just concentrated to going to present the speaking ielts test, that was place in the ielts center located in downtown. I wake up at 11 am and I prepared the lunch, and after that, I went to the first part of the test. When I finished the exam, I went to home to relax and watch TV. I went to bed early due to the next day in the morning, I will present he last part of the exam. Finally arrived the day, I presented the test from 9:00 to 12:00 pm, of course I had to arrived early. That day was raining and I left early. So, I wake up at 6:00 am and I took the bus at almost 7:00am, and I took the train at 7:20 am. I was so worried about the time due to the door close at 8:30am and that day I have to transfer to a shuttle at Stamped Station to city hall. In conclusion, I arrived on time and everything was fine.

          When I finished the test I walk to the shuttle stop, down the rain, that was located on first Street with ninth avenue. I went home I felt so tired that the only thing that I wanted to do was sleep and watch movie. In fact that they I went to bed very early, as well as I slept until 1:00 pm on Sunday. On Sunday, I just went to Walmart where I bought some foods, furthermore a couple of snakes for the week. I did no do any homework that day. Now on the last day that we had free, Monday, I started to do all the homework from each class. I had a lot, however I could finished the majority of them.

          In conclusion, I just took one day and a half to be relaxing, without thinking in homework. As a result, that long weekend was very short for me but not others people.

Success and Failure

 



During the life the people have success and failure. Now, we can think in questions like, How the people can be successful?, success is Love, Money, help others? or if we fail we do not pursuing the dream. Maybe we ask ourselves How do we deal with success and failure?

 

First of all, I would like to define what is success and failure for me. Success is when we pursuing a goal and we achieved the aim with perseverance and without quit our budget. Now failure for me is a person that give up the goals and surrender in the life. Now, Elizabeth Gilbert explained a line where is the success, the home and the failure. I am totally agree that we have to fine our home and staying there to see what is wrong and what is right. In this home we can set up many goals in which each goal is going to expand in different roots like happiness, love, money, be generous with others people. If we find this home everything will be fine, but if we still are looking for this home, we could be affected by the society, the media, your friends, as well as the family. Maybe the people can not accept that they are lying to try to success in the life, but they do not see that they are wrong and that is one reason why the people failure.

 

In the other hand, for me success as well as failure have to going by the hand. Together. Why together? One reason is that everybody lye in their life to try to rise in a new position in the job, with the partners of job or study, even with the family for the reason to not hurt them. Then, to deal with success and failure for me is staying at home being the most honest that we can.

Growing through Song

           


          I have a personal connection with one song that changed my life. The name of the song is “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Boddy McFerrin. I would like to share with you the link of the song:

           My family and I  were passing by a lot of difficulty when I was a teenager. One problem was  that I had not been accepted to the University in my city, also my father was not working . My older brother took the responsibility of the family, but in a few days he was fired. I felt very sad, with a lot of stress due to all problems that my family was going through.  However, that night in my bedroom  - one of my sisters put the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. The next day when I woke up, I felt with a lot of energy, and I thought that it is not the moment to give up. There have to be a way to solve the problems and staying at home was not the solution. I decided to search for a job in a supermarket, as well as fast foods. The first two weeks was difficult to be employee for someone but finally I found a work. With that job I could pay a part of my studies at the University.

           I learn a lot about the attitude of different persons and I took the best modals of each one. I learnt about money, furthermore I see how the real life is. If I had not listened this song, I might not have started the University. The only thing that I have to say is that this song makes me relax, forget the difficulty of the problem and things better about how resolve this obstacle.

         
           In conclusion, I connect with this song because every time I feel stressed, I listen to it not only to stay in calm, but also to remember how my family and I rose and succeed through of many obstacles in life.

About my Self

    My name is Alfredo Gonzalez. I was born in 1983 in the beautiful city of Maracaibo, Venezuela. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University LUZ, as well as I graduated from an technician Institute like Instrument Technician. I have been in a Basketball and swimming competitions. Now, I have been leaving in Canada for almost 8 months with the purpose to study English like my first step, additionally starting my master degree and some kind of job.

      At this moment, I am studying English at the University of Calgary and I am meeting a lot of people from different countries, and I have been learning a little thinks about their culture (food, behavior, manner tables, etc). In general speaking, all these knowledge are awesome to rise like professional and like a better person.
